Trying to install OMSA on a freshly installed Jessie 8.4 on a R420 following instruction from http://linux.dell.com/repo/community/ubuntu/, I have a problem with this entry : *deb http://linux.dell.com/repo/community/ubuntu precise openmanage/740*. No way to find openmanage/740/binary-amd64/Packages in http://linux.dell.com/repo/community/ubuntu/dists/jessie/Release with apt-get update. When I go to http://linux.dell.com/repo/community/ubuntu/dists/jessie/openmanage/, I just see 810 or 820 directory entries, but Packages files for binary-amd64 are empty.

How can I install OMSA on this server ?

Best regards.

Hi (bonjour ;-) ) Jean-Daniel,

you can use this entry i think :
deb http://linux.dell.com/repo/community/ubuntu wheezy openmanage/740

(files are in http://linux.dell.com/repo/community/ubuntu/pool/wheezy/openmanage/740/OMSA/amd64/ directory)

I just tried it on a debian jessie and install is ok. After that, with a "/opt/dell/srvadmin/sbin/srvadmin-services.sh start"
i could ask for a "omreport chassis" and everything seems ok.
I too had to do this in a freshly installed T430 yesterday.

Debian jessie was released more than 1 year ago, what is Dell waiting to for adding unofficial support for it?! Given the recent popularity of Ubuntu Server, I don't understand how Debian/Ubuntu packages have not been promoted to officially supported...

Cheers
Eneko
