Mmh, could you please give an example of one such feature? As far as I know, DSU is just merely catching up in terms of features to what DLR had been doing just fine for years. And I'm not mentioning code quality here, just features... > The DSU update > repository is refreshed every month. Well, yes, and in very interesting ways. For instance, the last 1.3.1-16.12.00 update now wants to downgrade BIOS versions that were already quite behind. To be precise: until now, the latest BIOS version that DSU proposed for R630s was 2.2.5 (when the latest BIOS version on support.dell.com has been 2.3.4 for quite a while). But with the latest version, DSU now wants to downgrade 2.2.5 to 2.1.7: -- 8< -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- # dmidecode -s system-product-name PowerEdge R630 # dsu -v dsu (Dell System Update) 1.3.1 Copyright (C) 2014 Dell Proprietary. # dsu Verifying catalog installation ... That's the very base feature of DSU: check local BIOS versions them against what's available in the repo. And I'm sorry, but it can't even get that right.
