Tried updating the iDRAC firmware on an R720xd this morning. The version of this Update Package is newer than the currently installed version. Software application name: iDRAC Package version: 2.41.40.40 Installed version: 2.32.31.30
DSU sat there printing .'s to the screen every so often for quite awhile and then I got this: Execution operation exceeded specified timeout. The update failed to complete iDRAC-with-Lifecycle-Controller_Firmware_XTPX4_LN_2.41.40.40_A00 could not be installed First time I've seen this failure. I'm using a locally rsync'd repository for DSU. The server is running SciLinux 7.2. It did install Network_Firmware_82J79_LN_08.07.26_A00-00 and SAS-RAID_Firmware_VJ56N_LN_21.3.4-0001_A08 with no errors. Did a pretty much identical update on an R730xd yesterday and had no issues. I was able to get into the lifecycle controller and update the iDRAC firmware that way. -- Stephen Berg Systems Administrator NRL Code: 7320 Office: 228-688-5738 [email protected] _______________________________________________ Linux-PowerEdge mailing list [email protected] https://lists.us.dell.com/mailman/listinfo/linux-poweredge
