Maybe there's a config option in the controller to stop complaining about non-certified disks? On our T610 with PERC H200, OMSA shows a warning but here aren't any orange lights...
To have OMSA stop complaining add to /opt/dell/srvadmin/etc/srvadmin-storage/stsvc.ini
; nonDellCertified flag for blocking all non-dell certified alerts. NonDellCertifiedFlag=no But this shouldn't have any effect on the drive LEDs that I am aware of.

Don't expect much more info from it, except it might say they are non-Dell or such. FWIW -- I left them in the machine, powered up, but unused, for ~3-4 months (trying to make up my mind whether or not to put them to use) before I got tired of the blinking lights. The last test on them before removal still showed them as "ok"... I have some old 15K SAS disks that I want to replace with SSD's. Four of the slots are currently unused and I tried putting in 4 Crucial-Brand Sata-Based SSD's I had sitting around as a test run. I thought I'd config them as a RAID10 for safety and the controller indicated all were fine and had no problem configuring them for that config. The composite disk shows up under Linux with the expected storage size with "roughly" the expected performance characteristics. Problem that bothered me was that the slots that had the SSD's in them would blink orange, that would normally, I thin, be associated with a fault of some sort. The other three populated slots with SAS drives continued working normally and didn't blink orange, indicating that it was only the 4 SSD's that were getting the blinking orange fault indicator. The LSI controller didn't indicate any problems with the disks (they were 'fine' for RAID use) and Linux indicated no error, so I formatted and ran full-disk R/W tests on them with no problems. The LSI card's internal log and the BIOS's internal NVRAM log showed no problems with the disks. I checked to see that I had the lastest released Dell-ROM for that system as well as checking for the latest updates for the controller from both Dell's and LSI's (then Avago, now Broadcom's) websites and it appeared I had the latest releases for the machine and the controller. Any idea why the T610 would blink orange on SSD's? Any idea how to get it to stop blinking orange? I'd prefer to have it not falsely indicate a problem, but if it's an unfixable firmware problem, is it something I might just ignore? Any insights, pointers or ideas would be appreciated.
