Hello, I have a pair of T110-II systems running CentOS 7. Each has a PERC 6/i card and supports a few KVM guests. I don't have (or want) any Windows systems and am looking for some simple health checks. Since these are low end servers, they do not have an iDRAC. The Dell tools like OMSA appear to be quite complex, perhaps more than I really need, so I'm looking to both sanity-check my perspective and also to see if others have any suggestions for monitoring small environments. As each server supports a single site, I'd prefer the monitoring to be self-contained and light-weight so that the resources are available for the work the servers are intended to perform.
The biggest concern is to monitor the disks behind the PERC 6/i & although it is not really maintained, the megacli is something I could at least script and run from cron to alert me to problems. Ideally though I would prefer to I use tools that are maintained and available in repositories. Thoughts and opinions would be appreciated, thanks. --Larry -- Larry Fahnoe, Fahnoe Technology Consulting, [email protected] Minneapolis, Minnesota www.FahnoeTech.com
