Probably has nothing to do with the OS's end. On my r815, which also use iDrac6(as probably all 11th gen) it is BIOS update that broke virtual console. Windows also fails to connect.

This is the kind of predictable outcome which makes me wonder why some people are zealots about upgrading firmware.  For most of us, the machines work fine and the new firmware does nothing more for us than giving a warm and fuzzy feeling from knowing it's the latest bootstrap code.  Others discover they're herding 6,000 boat anchors that just the day before were 6,000 fine Dell servers.

Obviously I'm not talking about situations where you update to fix a problem that does affect you, which is rare, and so my advice is to not upgrade without good reason.
