Hi All,

I've been reading some documents for upgrading RAM on my T430 and I'm now a little bit (more) confused.

* The H/W manual for the T430 specifies that only single-rank and dual-rank memory is supported.
https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/vg/en/vgbsdt1/poweredge-t430/t430_om/memory-specifications?guid=guid-ca0a64fb-081e-428b-abb4-6e0bf9c1582e&lang=en-us

* The memory guidelines for 13th gen talk about single-rank and dual-rank memory but mention 'quad-rank' in the footnotes:
https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/sln296980/memory-configuration-guidelines-for-13g-poweredge-servers-r430-t430-and-r530?lang=en

I have a Dell T430 I'd like to upgrade to 256gb.
The server came with that memory configuration:

---------------------------------------------------------
CPU0 : 8 * 16Gb dual-rank Mem (HMA42GR7MFR4N-TF)
CPU1 : 4 * 16gb dual-rank Mem (same as above).
---------------------------------------------------------

I've sold the DIMMs on CPU1 on ebay and found a set of 4 * 32Gb DIMMs (but I noticed they're quad-rank) : HMA84GL7MMR4N-TF

Since I'm planning to use those DIMMs on CPU1 only (a different memory channel than those of CPU0), would the following configuration work?

---------------------------------------------------------
CPU0 : 8 * 16Gb dual-rank Mem (HMA42GR7MFR4N-TF)
CPU1 : 4 * 32gb quad-rank Mem (HMA84GL7MMR4N-TF).
---------------------------------------------------------

Any advice apreciated.. I would to avoid buying and then returning the DIMMs if they don't work in the system. :(

Thanks,

Vincent
