[EXTERNAL EMAIL]
Hi,
while testing I just noticed this issue could have been lurking longer
because dsu gives a wrong exit code.
I usually run --non-interactive --apply-upgrades with ansible (no
inventory) and if that run has updates that apply successfully and need
a reboot it will give back 8, even though it should come back with 26
for a partial failure and needing a reboot for the successful updates.
So that may have hidden the error from me because I only check output on
failures :)
Greetings
Klaas

Hi Klaas,
That's a good spot on the new addition to the blacklist. Thank you very much
for that!
A similar, but not identical QLogic-identification thing cropped up a while ago
for us (I forget exactly when, but I think it was less than 12 months ago) and
Dell issued a fix that appeared in the next catalog. It's a PCI ID mismatch, I
think.
As for the "BROADCOM" error. We've always seen that when running dsu. It
appears to be harmless.
Ben

Subject: [Linux-PowerEdge] DSU Problems with 19.12.02 and 20.01.00 release
[EXTERNAL EMAIL]
Hi,
it seems there is a problem with dsu and latest inventory collection.
It detects a QLogic adapter in my rhel 7.7 system, I only have intel
adapters. For the Dell employees: There is a support request open with
Dell associated with my name.
There is an error in messages:
"BROADCOM[8562]: ERROR InitInternalData(): read configuration failed(21)"
Side note: if you're using multipathd see this addition to the
blacklist configuration:
