Yeah, they really botched this product.

They *finally* (years after competitors) come up with a 1u server with 4x 3.5" 
drives and they stick a NIC in the box that works with pretty much nothing.

Completely disappointed.

I can now confirm that 8.04 will NOT run out of the box on the R410.
DVDROM and ethernet drivers don't work.
Jaunty does work.
