If you have a DRAC on your system (at least this works for iDRAC6, I
don't have any others to check) you can see the LCD information by
connecting to the web interface of the DRAC, logging in and clicking on
LCD at the bottom of the left-side navigation tree.


Otherwise, John Hodrien's suggestion to check the SEL for errors is
probably your best bet.
