A winmodem will ONLY function under windoze. as it doesn't have a REAL DSP
chip on it. it uses software to do the hard work, whcih is why MOST
winmodems require an Intel with MMX processor to function.
Throw it away, and buy a REAL modem, (one that is NOT a winmodem)
