At this stage of your analysis, I think it might be good to turn down
your kdebug option to 1 (or maybe remove it) and make sure your
/etc/syslog.conf has daemon.* going somewhere (wherever everything the
log you posted is). Then you'll be able to see a fairly understandable
account of the LCP messages. If you did that, you and others would
probably get a quicker idea about the problem. It's possible, but
tedious to decode it from the escaped data stream you posted.
