Yes, I connected a modem myself :) Just NT, modem, and telephone line,
nothing between.

I think my pppt sript(with chat script inside) could be included as an
example, as it is simple and clear.
It shows 2 stages, e.g. I had to run pppd 2 times - one for calling and
second
for answering a callback. It took the hardest time.
My NT server name is SERVER. It had to be written exactly 'SERVER' in
chap-secrets
and in ppp script, and not 'server'.
On NT I allowed "any authentication, including clear text", because I was
too
lazy to play with README.MSCHAP80.
Also an option __callback__ SHOULD BE docummented somwhere....
I didn't find it anywhere, only in Dejanews archives.
