I've just dropped in on this thread so please excuse me if I speak out
of turn.
I've been trying to get a kernel/ppp install going for over 8 months.
(and the issue is still not resolved). Several messages to lists such as
this, and other places have yielded zero results.
If delcaring it orphaned means someone else is willing to maintain it, I
say go for it.
