I won't pretend to know who is doing the wrong thing, NT or pppd, but the
failure appears to be due to a lack of agreement as to acceptable ms-dns
and ms-wins options - to use pppd terms. NT asks pppd to supply primary
and secondary servers for both these and pppd seems to be configured only
to supply primary servers. Pppd is willing to settle for the non-IP
0.0.0.0 for both the secondaries' IP address but it looks like NT is not
willing to do this.
If you configure pppd for secondary servers then I suspect the problem will
go away. No guarantee though. "Man pppd" for how to configure the
secondaries, in case you don't know. ;)
