Hello. I'm on my first round through setting up a VPN. Since my office
is mostly a Micro$osft shop, we're trying PPTP first. I've read the VPN
mini-HOWTO, the PPTP docs, and the various applicable README's in the
ppp 2.3.4 source distribution.

According to the PPTP docs, in order to use PPTP, pppd must be compiled
with support for MS-CHAP. Okay, so I read the README.MSCHAP80 file in
my ppp distro, and it says that MS-CHAP support will only work if the
Linux box is the one initiating the connection, not if it's acting as
the "server".

Well, I need it on the server. Our firewall is a Linux box, and must
act as the slave in any kind of VPN we set up. The same README.MSCHAP80
said that support for MS-CHAP on the server end shouldn't be difficult,
just hadn't been done yet. While it may be easy, I sure can't do it.
Does anyone know of a patch for this, or a trick to make it work?
