There's been a lot of talk about Winmodems under Linux on the
newsgroups. Don't expect support real soon.

The problem is, these inexpensive things dispense with the DSP
a respectable modem has. Signal processing is offloaded on your
CPU, instead. Might work for one modem, not likely to work for
supporting several on one host.

Can you get _anything_ to work with the modem under Linux?
If so, it isn't a Winmodem.
