Please help!!!
I am trying to set up a Linux PPP server. I can connect to the
server from other Linux PPP client machines. Unfortunately, I cannot connect
to the server from a Windows98 machine without using a PPP script.
I downloaded Eric Rosenquist's ppp-2.3.4 package and have been reading his document
'README.MSCHAP80' entitled 'PPP Client Support for Microsoft's CHAP-80'.
In it he says
'...but if you're using PPPD as a dial-in server, you won't be
able to use MS-CHAP to authenticate the clients...'.
Does this mean that I can forget about using Linux as the PPP server at
present? Can I not simply disable the use of MS-CHAP for Windows client
authentication?
Any advice in this regard would be *MUCH* appreciated. I have been battling
for many days on this problem.
Thankyou
