After a long journey which I will not go into here, I have run into a rather
basic (and major) problem. After installing ppp-2.3.5 and having it
working, I tried to reconfigure under SuSE 5.2. Needless to say, ppp no
longer works. As it's coming up, I get the following in the log file:

Sep 16 21:49:01 castle pppd[863]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyS0

I had run kernel level 'make modules' and 'make modules_install'. Do I need
to re-make the files in the ppp-specific source tree to have them appear?
Or, what else did I do wrong?

Thanks for any advice...
