i'm trying to get IPX going over ppp. I'm using RedHat 5.1, unmodified (kernel 2.0.34, ppp 2.3.3). i can see and mount ipx servers over ethernet, but i can't do it over ppp. (i do bring the ethernet device down before trying ppp, so ppp0 becomes the primary ipx device) in /var/log/messages, i see following messages from pppd that don't look right to me: pppd[448]: Received bad configure-ack: 01 06 00 02 34 56 02 08 00 00 ff ff 88 01 pppd[448]: IPXCP: timeout sending Config-Requests the ip side gets configured right and i can ping/telnet out. the ppp0 device get's assigned a network number of 00023456, and the node number is all 0's looking at /proc/net/ipx*, i have only one route defined, to the ppp0 device (or something like that). when i try using ethernet, i see only device routes, but after a successfull "slist", i see another route listed. a win95 box can dial in a see&mount the ipx servers through ppp, so i'm guessing it's not the ppp server issue??? in /etc/ppp/options i have: ipx ipxcp-accept-network ipxcp-accept-local ipxcp-accept-remote any help would be appreciated.. thanks ed d.
