Hi,
I want to make a 33.6K dial-up to the local ISP. I read PPP-howto and
follow excatly what it instruct. i am using linux kernel 2.0.34 and
ppp2.2.XX. When it come to the part where using minicom, i got a problem. I
started the minicom and issue command "atdt XXXX " and i connect to the
ISP. Login prompt out and then password. After i login, a lot of funny
character comes out. According to the howto, that is a LCP. After waiting
for a few minute, a message appear in minicom come out said "NO CARRIER".
What does it mean? I also start the pppd -detach 38200 .... .. . (something
like that) on the other console but this command cannot start. The proccess
keep on exit.
Why the NO CARRIER appear and disconnect the line. I try to use win95
dial-up networking and it work fine. Whats get wrong?
Any sample or guideline on this setup will be very much appreciated.
Thank You
