Hi I've been trying for a while to get access to my ISP (Telenor in Norway) using an serial interface ISDN adapter Lasat Unique 1280i. The ISP uses CHAP authentification and HDLC ISDN protocol. I get a connection, but when pinging the machine on other side (or any other host) using ip-address I get one ping package in return (approx. 60-70ms). Then there is silence. I can see that the adapter is trying to send more, but it doesn't receive anything more. I have checked that the package (exactly one) is received at other end (tcpdump). I have used the ppp earlier on the same machine/OS install with non-isdn modem. I have gotten the adapter to work under Windows 95 at the same ISP; so it should be possible. Versions: Linux 2.0.36pp15 with ppp v2.3.5 (in kernel and in daemon) I have also tried the default kernel and daemon that comes with RedHat 5.1 (ppp v2.3.4), and I have tried the Linux 2.0.34 and 2.0.35 kernels (there ain't really any difference is it?). Exact same result.
