I'm using pppd 2.3.3 to connect two Red Hat 5.1 machines via a 28.8 dial-up connection. Can anyone recommend optimal settings (both ends) for speed/throughput? Likewise, does anyone on the list have experience with the eql module that they might share with me. I live in a rural area and US West (telecomm provider) has made it quite clear that analog dial-tone is my ONLY option. 28.8 is consistently my best connect speed. I have two lines and if combining the bandwidth of two 28.8 connections will effectively provide me a 56K connection, I'll do it. Thanks.
