Here's a small problem I have...
I am dialing up my ISP with ppp 2.2.0f using Linux
2.0.35kernel Slackware 3.6.0
My ISP uses dynamic IP addressing and also sets a hostname of
sorts to my machine when connecting in the form of:
dialup##.nf.sympatico.ca
I set my machine here as victory.overnite.com,
victory.nf.sympatico.ca, or as just victory..... when I try to ftp into their
server to update my page, I cannot log in because the server uses the
dialup##.nf.... name to verify I am connected inside their network and I cannot
get in... Does anyone know how I can get the machine to accept the hostname they
set me upon dialup, and still leave my setting of victory.overnite.com
intact???
Thanks in advance
