 Actually, I think it could be a number of things. Does your ISP run a time-
limit script for it's dial-up users ? Does you ISP have problems with it's 
modems that make the modem pool suddenly disconnect ? Does your modem have 
problems with communicating, and end up sending out disconnect packets (rare I 
suppose) ?

 I've had problems with my local ISP lately. They claimed it was my computer 
sending disconnect packets. Not true. They said everyone was sending disconnect 
packets. Also not true. The fact was, the modem pool was corrupted, so they had 
to test their modems to find the corrupted one. That solved the problem.
 Of course, if your ISP uses a time-limit script, there isn't much you can do, 
just make sure it allows you the proper time-limit between disconnecting you
