Perhaps you should upgrade your pppd to a later version.  It's available from:
        ftp://cs.anu.edu.au/pub/software/ppp/

I've used version 2.3.6 (I think) with Radius, and I haven't noticed any
particular problems.  What do you mean "RADIUS authentification"?  Radius
seems to use ordinary PAP/CHAP authentication.
