The READMEs are taken directly from the original source code distribution,
so they include instructions on how to compile and install the software.
However, the .rpm files in a distribution contain precompiled code, and
the rpm installation process takes care of installing the code for you. By
and large, you can ignore the README files. As you've already installed
the ppp rpm, use 'linuxconf' or 'netcfg' to configure PPP. The procedure
is explained in the RH5.1 installation guide.
