Well, It USED to do it with ppp 2.3.5 as well. Line died intermittently, and had to turn the modem off (at the client end). I thought it might have been snmpd interfering with the link, so I killed it, and didn't loose the link for over 2 weeks. I upgraded 2 days ago, and the pattern started to repeat itself. But it hasn't died for over a day now.
