I added
username * "" # disallowed user
* * "" x.y.z.0/24 # this allows everyone else in
to pap secrets (coz I use the login directive in pppd) and because there is no
ip address assigned to the user they are disallowed login.
if I neglected to put in * "" in the pap-secrets file, the user is still
allowed access.
