By adding options.ttyS1 into /etc/ppp/ ( no matter -.ppprc exists or not) I can login without giving any additional information on client's side. The information in .ppprc and options.ttyS1 looks similar: 192.168.69.1:192.168.69.27 It looks like pppd doesn't see .ppprc at all.
