Hi again....:(

I've upgraded setserial to 2.14 but the same happens....
Same with net-tools...

My linux machine (the one with THE problem) is an AMD486DX4 of 1995 ....
Could it be the problem? (old serial hardware or something)
when i installed kernels >= 2.2.0 and new pppd in a couple of friend's
computers everything worked perfectly...maybe that's the quirk...

Any suggestion?
PS: Pardon my english...
