Hello everyone, First of all, thanks to those that have replied to my original message about authentication against a ACE/Server (SecurID). All the people that have replied so far understood that I was having problems with Linux's pppd connecting to my employer's network which requires the use of a SecurID card. In this case, Linux is the client of the PPP connection, and my employer's dial-in server is the server of the PPP connection. I guess I didn't explain myself well in my original message: what I want to do is to have my Linux PPP _server_ contact, somehow, the ACE/Server so dial-in users (no matter what OS they use - Linux, NT, Win95/98) can get access to the network. I don't have problems with my Linux clients accessing the network via a SecurID-authenticated session: I wrote a very simple script that allows the user to type at the shell prompt something like "connect 123456", where "123456" is the passcode displayed in the SecurID LCD. Right now my PPP server is using PAP and the /etc/passwd file but I don't want this, I want the ACE/Server to do the authentication for pppd. Any suggestions? Can TACACS or Radius help me? Thanks! peloy.- - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-ppp" in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
