Tacio,

I have started working with Quicknet's LineJACK and think it is great compared
to the previous software offerings. Looks like PhoneJACK will do everything we
need now that we have the more expensive LineJACK ;^(. ANyway, I am currently
working on getting it to work from behind my Linux box and not having much
luck. I will get it though. Once I get that figured out, I need to get one
working behind my partner's ISDN router =8^O. Have no idea how that is going
to work since it doesn't appear to do port forwarding...

The quality over a 56k dialup (generally 44-46k) is incredible. The quality
through 28.8k is more than acceptable. Once I was getting annoyed at the fact
that it appeared to be dropping some packets and realized that it was connected
at 14.4k. Once I found that, I was pretty impressed that it was actually
almost useable at that throughput. Really should try to get higher than that
33.6 if you intend to talk and do _any_ browsing at all. The card will take
almost all that bandwidth if you are talking.

Another thing: they have just released a pre-alpha Linux driver for the card
and I intend to try that out sometime next week. I have spoken to the
developer and he seems pretty committed to getting it working before the NT
driver is released <G>. That will hopefully solve some of the problems with
getting it to work through the firewall. Check it out:
