Paul, there was actually one bug in 2.3.7 that you'd fixed with the
demand option (for which I am extremely grateful).
This was related to pppd not detecting a hangup correctly if it resulted
from a loss of carrier. Though this isn't something I would imagine
could be fixed by simply running it from /etc/inittab. Just in case that
is the problem being referred to, I thought I'd mention it.
