Can't help with you actual problems (in fact, I can't tell from this message
what they are, and I don't remember your earlier posting), but for people in
the US, there are handier sources for the HowTos than .au mirrors. Try The

Or try your CD. I'm not sure what SuSE you're using, but my SuSE 5.2 cheapie
includes a set of Howto*.rpm files in the Suse/Doc1 folder. So you probably
have them installed somewhere, probably somewhere in /usr/doc (exact
location varies by distribution and version, and I don't have an installed
SuSE to check).
