Hello,

I'm a LINUX-beginner and try to learn a lot about this system, because I
won't user MS-NT for our server/internet-gateway purposes. I set up a
LINUX-Box as internet gateway for our small MS-Network. Manual dialing and
connecting to the provider works well so far.

But there is one problem in the sphere of influence of diald: it connects
automatically to our provider without demand. This happens only when Windows
95-Workstations are active. I think it ties up with the MS-Network (Netbios
over TCP/IP is active), but I'm not shure about it.

My questions:
- Is there a way to find out what causes the diald to make a connection?
(paket sniffer or something like that)
- Do I need some filter rules? At the moment I use the filter rules from the
Mini-HOWTO by Harish Pillay.
- Or are there other possibilties which causes the unexpected dial?

Thanks in advance for every help! I will provide you with more specific
informations, if necessary.

Greetings from the Sunny Island of Crete!
