Has anyone ever successfully installed this software? It's software that creates a tunnel for all (?) packets to the internet to a server that acts like a proxy server. This server then resends the packets to the destination and then routes the socket responses back to the original sender via a satellite link. The tunnel has account info that points to the correct satellite board. The install setup doesn't work and I'm convinced the problem is with the routing table. The DirecPC setup has an IP address for the satellite board and a "hybrid gateway" ip address (this is the end of the tunnel as described above). My linux box is a router for my LAN and uses diald to create an on-demand link to my ISP. I have masquerading and firewalling installed as I use a reserved network for my lan addresses. All the trouble-shooting items in the Helius docs fail to turn up a problem...the signal is strong, the evaluation license is in place, flexlm (Flex License Mgr) allows the daemon! ! s to start OK. BUT when I do a traceroute to the "hybrid gateway" address it goes through either the eth0 or dpc0 interface. I have a static route to the this gateway in my routing table but it's ignored. The dpc0 (for the satellite board) is configured as a pointtopoint with the hybrid gateway IP as the remote end. If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate hearing from you. If you need more info I'll send it to you. I'm in a rural area with no options for higher speed connectivity -- only what our local ISP offers.
