Maybe he means to ask what editor he should use.

Try

vi /etc/ppp/ppp-on

vi is an editor:

use the "Insert" key to activate insert mode use the "Delete" or "x" key to
delete.


Save and quit with the following sequence

<Esc>
:
wq
<Enter>
