Can be a ppp device asociated to a specific IP?

Hi!
I wonder if a ppp device (e.g ppp0) can be associated to always stay on a
specific IP (e.g. 192.168.1.1). I do a traffic analysis (mrtg) on a serial
line, but the associated name changes according to time when that link
comes up. I want to force somehow to be a static assignment.
