Thanks for the replies, yes, it certainly seems that CONNECT_TIME is not
available from auth-down but is available from ip-down. And that meets my
needs. Maybe 'someone' should have a look at the man page.....
I noticed that ppp.2.3.9 seems to connect (and stay connected) much more
reliably than the much older version I had been using. Nice product, thanks !
