I don't see why it makes any difference what PPP interface is used, or even
if the PPP interface is changed from session to session.  The data will, of
course, go over the same serial port (to the same destination IP) regardless
of the PPP interface.  I think wanting the same PPP interface is a little
like wanting your program to load in the same location in physical RAM.
