I've noticed a problem when trying to make use out of ppp-2.3.9 and
2.3.10. Everytime, when I'm trying to, f.e. "/usr/sbin/pppd /dev/ttyS0
115200 ...other parameters...", it quits, and I can find in log a message
like this (tried it with kernels 2.0.38, 2.2.5 and 2.2.12):
---------------------------------------------
pppd[742]: pppd 2.3.10 started by root, uid 0
pppd[742]: Using interface ppp-1073743680
pppd[742]: Connect ppp-1073743680 <--> /dev/ttyS0
modprobe: Can't locate module ppp-1073743680
pppd[742]: ioctl(SIOCSIFMTU): No such device(19)
pppd[742]: tcflush failed: I/O error
pppd[742]: exit
---------------------------------------------
I can't understand, what's going on. Earlier ppp version were using
device 'ppp0', not 'ppp-a_very_long_number'. How could I fix this to make
use of new ppp versions?
pozdrawiam / regards
