Have you looked in ... /etc/resolv.conf. There should be an entry in there
called
nameserver x.x.x.x
Ensure the x.x.x.x is the same DNS address that you should have obtained
from you ISP. If there are two, add another line like the first.

Subject: dns entry not found!
hi all,
iam a newbie to the wonderful world of
linux. i have installed linux (redhat 6.1)
at home on a partition and am having fun playing
around with it.
i have the following problem:
i am able to connect to my service provider
using kppp dialer and it even tells me how
long iam logged on ... BUT netscape is unable
to open any site - it says "dns entry not found" -
have any of you faced a similar problem?
please inform me where i should look for error
messages and what entries if any, i should make in
any files, so i can be a happy surfer again :-)
thanks in advance.
prashanth.
