Thanks to everyone who replied to my MPPC questions. .....and yes I meant
RFC 2118. That's a real bummer and a big disadvantage to Linux in at least
three apllications that I can think of:
(a) home user or road warrior dialing into their isp or corporation. all
the remote access servers support MPPC and give windows users 4:1
compression. can't get that if your dialing in using a linux PC
(b) isp wanting to use linux as a dial-up remote access server. his
customers, mainly windows users, will want MPPC and will notice the
difference in download speeds when connecting to an isp who doesn't support
MPPC
(c) using a linux pc as a subscriber management platform like a Redback SMS
box
O.K., how about RFC 2701, "Multi-link Multi-node PPP Bundle Discovery
Protocol", does linux support this?
Thanks in advance,
Ned
