No. I didn't mean that. I mean suppose that I have two serial ports (COM1,
COM2). How could tune pppd to use the second one when the first is locked by
another process? What you should I write on "call file"?

you could compile the kernel with modular support for your serioal card. The
RedHat 6.0 kernel comes with modular support for stallion a,d cyclades
cards.
