Oh well I will take Cliff's word for granted on the PMTU issue but I would still
like to know why is ppp throwing away all the compression on my connection. As
noted by few other users ppp 2.3.10 seems to be facing a LCP timeout problems too.
Even debug mode doesn't tell us anything - just shows that we are sending out LCP's
and not hearing anything in return. Other than that I am seeing a lot of unknown
protocol/ protocol rejected. Has something been happening in the windows version of
PPP that the Linux community is not aware of - most probably it is all patented and
locked away if it is new. Or are these covered in ppp-2.3.11 I can't test it right
now as I have access to the modem only on the production box and I am not going to
do a upgrade unless it is necessary for security or performance reasons. The
documentation doesn't seem to suggest either but code and documentation might not
be in sync who knows!!.
Hoping to have some feedback on this issue.
