Hi people,

I have been trying to connect to a shiva (lanrover 16e) dialup system and as
yet have been unable to connect. I tried to use pap and chap authentication.
I asked the administrator of the system which authentication protocol they
use and he seems to be assured that the system is using pap and spap (Shiva
Password Authentication Protocol). When i dialup i get a connect signal from
my chat script but as soon as ppp tries to authenticate it get a ConfReq
timeout (LCP Packets). Do you have any suggestions as to what path i could
try to follow, as i have tried all of my limited knowledge to try to sort
this out. Is there an spap protocol for linux. Just for interest sake this
protocol is now built into the MS dialup connectivity coz i can connect with
my Ms box without any trouble and when i look at the properties of my
connection it tells me that it is spap. I would like to get this working
with slackware linux 2.2.13 coz the speed to my isp compared to MS is much
faster

Your response would be much appreciated.

Thanx
Bruce
