Can someone please clarifiy something for me. Running Redhat 6.1 w/
kernel 2.2.14 and ppp-2.3.10.

This is what I am trying to do which will be implemented at work:

RH6.1 server dialing out with 2 USRobitcs 56K External modems connected
to a Comtrol RocketPort Serial Card 8 ports -(ttyR0-ttyR7) running
driver v1.17. These two modems will connect to my ISP and once the
connection is established, I will bind both modems using EQL-1.2.

Scenario 1:
I have setup ppp with the default ppp-on & ppp-on-dialer scripts. All I
have done is change whatever settings I need and the scripts when
initiated individualy connect perfectly.

Probelm w/ Scenario 1:
I cannot connect both modems at once using ppp. If I initiate ttyR0 it
connects(I can ping,etc...). If I try to initiate ttyR1 while ttyR0 is
connected, I receive an error indicating pppd can not locate a secret
password in the pap-secrets file. How do I get around this??

Scenario 2:
What is the purpose of the options file when everything is specified in
the ppp-on scripts? The options file seems to be a mirror of the command
line in ppp-on. What is the point of issuing the same commands in two
different files?

Problem w/ Scenario 2:
If I configure the options file with the correct settings, and place
this under the same directory where ppp-on & ppp-on-dialer is located,
pppd will initiate the scripts and die indicating the connection script
failed. If I remove the command line options for pppd in the ppp-on
script and just use the options file, the script fails. If I remove the
options file from the /etc/ppp directory and put back the command line
options for pppd, the ppp-on & ppp-on-dialer scripts work fine. What
gives?

To my understanding you don't have to specify the options file on the
pppd command line when called from ppp-on script. pppd is suppoded to
look for that file automatically then look at the command line in
ppp-on. Is this correct???

I have read the PPP-HOWTO atleast 3 times, and all the other related
HOWTO's. Can someone send me a working options & pap-secrets file for
use with 2 modem connections and instructions on where to place these
files? I am tired of making changes and then something esle doesn't
work!!!
