I've seen a couple of usenet posts for help where the pppd persist option didn't cause pppd to try to reconnect after a connection is terminated. In particular, it seems that pppd doesn't try to reconnect when the other side abruptly hangs up. I think that this is the intended behavior for persist but I'd like that confirmed and, if possible, to get some insight into what kinds of connection termination do cause pppd to try to reopen the connection. --- Clifford Kite Not a guru.
