I'm trying to set up a linux vpn using 2 gateways for different
networks.
I've got everything setup up and can establish a connection from one
gateway to
the other, but the other machines on the network cannot see the other
side of the
vpn connection. I understand that proxyarp should take care of this
but when pppd
starts /var/log/messages.
Mar 1 20:21:51 masq pppd[18615]: pppd 2.3.10 started by vpn, uid
502Mar 1 20:21:51 masq pppd[18615]: Using interface ppp0
Mar 1 20:21:51 masq pppd[18615]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/3
Mar 1 20:21:55 masq pppd[18615]: Deflate (15) compression enabled
Mar 1 20:21:57 masq pppd[18615]: Cannot determine ethernet address
for proxy ARP
What can I do to make proxy ARP work?
Is the reason why proxyARP isn't working because the machines each
have 2 NICs?
please CC: me any responses as I am not on the list.
Thanks,
Jonathan
